That’s why whenever I want to mix up my style, I turn to some of the best salons that do hair extensions in Ottawa, and fortunately, there are tons to choose from. However, I must say that there are ones that exceed others in terms of quality, and I’m here to share them!
We’ve compiled places that offer high-quality extensions and overall salon services. Keep on reading if you want to know where you can get your realistic-looking locks in a snap!
What is the average cost of hair extensions in Ottawa?
Hair extensions in Ottawa range from CAD325 to CAD1,635. This varies depending on the method and how much of the hair will be attached with extensions.
1. Glam Fairy Hair Extensions

We discovered Glam Fairy Hair Extensions through a friend’s Instagram story, and its pink and chic look immediately piqued our interest. When we saw the results, we knew we had to check this place out for ourselves.
As soon as we entered, we were immediately entertained, and all our questions were answered in detail.
Although we haven’t tried their extensions ourselves, we liked the methods they offered: tape-in and nano-bead. Out of the two, the latter caught our attention because of the meticulous process of using microbeads to thread the hair.
We were also pleased with their selection of treatments, more specifically, their 24K hair straightening protein treatment. It features gold infusions, which leads to an otherworldly shine.
Our only gripe with this salon is its slightly limited extension methods. However, from what we’ve gathered from previous customers, both of these methods are highly effective, with some regulars saying that theirs lasted for over a year.

Jet Black Hair Studios got on our radar because of its fun and crazy rainbow hair colouring services. However, we’ve learned to discover that the best thing about this salon is its stylists because they’re friendly, skilled, and offer different specialties.
For instance, one of their extension experts is Ilona, and her resume is proudly displayed on her official IG page.
Their extension services come with the complete package, including the consultation. We’ve interviewed previous customers who opted for this package, and one of the consensuses was how helpful the consultation step was in helping them decide on their look.
The salon itself is charming, featuring high ceilings, chic designs, and comfy waiting areas.
We just hope they will extend their business hours, as they’re currently only open five days a week at the time of writing. Also, their consultations require upfront payment, so that’s something to prepare for.

New York New York Hair Salon offers some of the best value-for-money salon services in Ottawa. This is because, with each service, they throw in an in-depth consultation process, a relaxing shampoo, and a satisfying head massage.
We reached out to customers who got hair extensions from this salon, and they mostly highlighted their stylists as opposed to the service itself. For instance, they told us how attentive their stylists were during the consultation process, leading them to get their desired outcome.
They were also kind enough to send us updated pictures of their extensions. We were blown away at how healthy they still looked, even the ones that were nearing a year old.
We also like the stylish interior decor of the salon, which, from the name itself, does make you feel like you’re in NYC with its industrial motif.
However, we do wish that they could improve their waiting areas, as the chairs aren’t the most comfortable. They’re also closed two days of the week, which is quite limiting for some clients.

What caught our eye about this Hair Republic was its look, as we always pass by it along Bank St. and have always admired its sleek exterior and interior.
They offer a complete set of salon services, including, of course, extensions. We inquired about this service and discovered that they only use well-known brands, such as Bellami and Hotheads Hair Extensions.
We interviewed customers who had tried this service, and they all provided positive testimonials, with the majority stating that the extensions were long-lasting. Furthermore, their before-and-after pictures cemented this claim, as they all appeared to be real and healthy hair.
The team of junior, senior, and master stylists was also the main highlight of our interviews. They were mostly commended for their honesty during the consultation period, where they provided recommendations that they believed would better suit the customer.
However, we also discovered through our conversations that delays are common with scheduled appointments. Once we saw how meticulously each stylist worked, though, we understood why.
Have never met a better hairdresser

“I have been going to this location for many years now, having seen many of their stylists. They are all a bunch of great people. Sam has been my go-to if I can get in with her. I recommend them to anyone searching for a salon.
I’ve had both haircuts and colouring done with them. The salon is gorgeous, and they have dry flower displays everywhere, which is so nice to see while you’re getting shampooed or waiting for processing.
I’ve only had one instance where my colouring had issues (which was caused by a variety of issues, my hair itself being one of them), and they were amazing in the process of fixing it. I am always pleased to leave them. 10/10 recommend.”

Judging from what we’ve gathered from previous customers, Precision Styling lives up to its name. Their stylists play a huge part in this, as they were praised during our interviews for being keen-eyed and paying attention to the tiniest details.
Their precision rings true more with their extension services. Regulars have noted how their stylists can make just about every style happen, from the right length to the colour, hair type, etc.
We also appreciate that they offer a full set of salon services, from perming to colouring, keratin treatments, and more. Furthermore, these services are surprisingly varied, with their hair colours covering balayage, partial and full highlights, bleach, etc.
The only thing we’d like this salon to improve is its interior, as it feels a bit cramped. Granted that it features multiple chairs to cater to as many customers as possible, we think that they could improve the layout more and update their decor in the process.
