Explore the Pumpkins at Ferme Proulx Farm

Established back in 1920, Napoleon Proulx purchased the property and developed it over the years, adding dairy, raspberry fields, and maple syrup production.

Once the annual pumpkin fest rolls around, this farm undergoes a magical Halloween makeover. You’d get to hang out at a sprawling countryside setting where you can pack a picnic and join in the festivities.

There’s a plethora of activities to keep you entertained – from play structures to intricate mazes, a charming wagon ride with pit stops for extra fun, pumpkin picking, spooky haunted houses, a petting zoo, and more.

Pro tip:
As for the main haunted house, it can get pretty dim inside, so it’s a good idea to have your phone flashlight handy if you decide to venture in.

Roam the Pumpkin Patch at Abby Hill Farms

Open 7 days a week, Abby Hill Farms can be found at the corner of Bankfield Road and Prince of Whales Drive, minutes south of downtown Ottawa.

You can find all types of veggies here like squash, apples, and a great assortment of fall decorations.  The pumpkins are in great sizes. They also have a small market there with fruit and vegetables, cider, and maple syrup.

There’s also a petting zoo and  pony rides here at Abby Hill Farms!

Wander through Pumpkins at Fallowfield Tree Farm

Located approximately 20 minutes west of downtown Ottawa, Fallowfield Tree Farm originated as a dairy and cash crop farm in the early 1950s. In addition to its traditional farming activities, this farm offers an array of engaging experiences.

Visitors can enjoy four bouncy castles, a pony ride, and a hay ride among other attractions. The farm boasts a diverse selection of pumpkins in various sizes and colors for visitors to choose from. 

Additionally, there are fresh vegetables and apples available for purchase, adding to the farm’s appeal.

Pro tip:
You can also go on a tractor instead of the horse carriage ride into one the patches as this can go further!

Discover the Pumpkins at Pinewood Orchard

Pinewood Orchards stands out as an apple orchard conveniently located just a short 10-minute drive west of downtown Ottawa. Renowned for its wide array of apple varieties, all hand-picked from their impressive collection of over 800 full-size trees.

Spanning over 15 acres of lush garden space, Pinewood Orchards cultivates a diverse range of produce, including field tomatoes, beans, corn, pumpkins, and berries. 

Visitors can also find an assortment of fresh vegetables at the on-site shop, along with apple cider vinegar.

Pro tip:
Upon arrival, visitors are provided with a bag – available in both large and small sizes – to fill up with their chosen goodies.

Embark on a Journey at Log Cabin Apple Orchard

At Log Cabin Apple Orchard, you’ll find the perfect destination for apple and pumpkin picking adventures. While the pumpkins may come with a slightly higher price tag, they’re worth it for their massive size, ideal for carving jack-o’-lanterns!

Beyond the orchards, visitors can delight in a charming petting zoo and indulge in homemade treats at the cantina, all amidst the picturesque backdrop of apple trees and pumpkin patches. 

They also have delectable fresh churros, candy apples, and refreshing drinks available at the nearby stand. 

Pro tip:
If you’re going here, we suggest you go on a Monday as there’s less crowd.
