Then I remembered that one of the perks of living in Ottawa is the handful of reliable fridge repair services being one call away. So, I was able to call a mechanic to work on my unit and within an hour or so, our fridge was back in tip-top shape!
To help you with your own fridge problems, I’ve reviewed some of the fridge companies in Ottawa that I think you can rely on in case of these emergencies. I’ve also included their respective pros and cons to help you weigh your options better!

Our guts told us that Doctor Appliance’s astounding reviews make it worth checking out, and fortunately, we were right.
For starters, the company is equipped with expert and courteous technicians. Previous customers have highlighted how these technicians can immediately pinpoint the problem of a fridge, or any appliance for that matter, after a quick inspection.
We also appreciate the technician’s maintenance tips and troubleshooting steps in case a certain problem reoccurs.
As for the service itself, we were impressed with its quick turnaround times. Some customers told us that the entire process of fixing their fridge from the initial phone call to the diagnostic and repair only took a couple of hours.
Pricing is reasonable. Plus, we appreciate that they offer a free service call for every appliance repair.
However, we were disappointed with the lack of 24/7 emergency services. We also thought that the 90-day warranty window was a bit limited compared to other companies that offered 1+ years of coverage.

Capital Appliance Repair was recommended to us by a friend who recently had her fridge repaired. Her recommendation highlighted the punctuality and friendliness of the technicians, which was enough to pique our attention.
We also discovered that their technicians are highly experienced, with some having more than 15 years of experience. Previous clients have also highlighted their quick turnaround time, as the company offers same-day repairs anywhere in Ottawa.
Furthermore, their technicians are experienced in working with just about every refrigerator brand such as Samsung, LG, Panasonic and more.
They also claim that whenever they fix something, it stays fixed. Although we don’t have proof of this claim, we can say that their services come with a 1-year warranty, which gives us an idea of how confident they are with their repairs.
Our only gripe is the slightly unresponsive customer service. However, they have been transparent in explaining that this is caused by the high volume of inquiries they receive on some days.

King Appliance Repair was one of our top prospects when we were looking for affordable fridge repair services.
They offer reasonable fees after a free service call and an on-site inspection. Also, we appreciate how upfront they are with the costs of repairing compared to buying a new fridge, as they would recommend which one is cheaper.
Their technicians’ efficiency also caught our attention, as previous customers have noted how fast and clean they work. We’ve also heard nothing but good words about their helpfulness, with some customers highlighting how they were provided useful tips about their fridges.
Another thing we love is the easy online booking. On their official website, you can choose either installation or a diagnostic + repair service for your fridge and other appliances.
Their same-day 24-hour emergency service is another bonus! Our gripe is that their customer line can sometimes be unresponsive.

One thing that immediately stood out to us about Honest Guys is their special 10% discount rate for military, veterans and senior citizens. It’s the first time we’ve seen this type of promo, and we hope to see it in more repair companies.
Their fridge repair services are praised by their previous clients because of their efficiency. Some have even noted that they haven’t encountered the same problem after availing of the company’s services.
We also appreciate their wide array of repair services that go beyond refrigerators. These services are done by their experienced technicians who have shown impressive quick turnaround times with their previous clients.
We do wish that they’d offer 24/7 emergency services. Also, it may be nitpicking but we think that free service calls should be a standard.

One of the highlights is their roster of skilled technicians. We also appreciate that they’re straightforward when it comes to saying whether or not it’s better to have a fridge repaired or replaced.
Furthermore, previous customers have noted their caring personalities. Some clients even received phone calls after the service itself to make sure that their fridge was still operational.
We also like how they repair other appliances as well like dishwashers, electric dryers and stoves. Moreover, they can work on just about every major household brand in the market.
However, we didn’t like the vague descriptions of their services online. Furthermore, we think that their overall website could use some updating, especially with the user experience.
