One time, I had this sudden, strong craving for something sweet—-crepes, specifically (I blame it on my bingeing on Masterchef Canada). So, armed with nothing but my insatiable appetite, I went down the street to look for THE spot!
Now, guess what? After several stops (and unbuttoned trousers), I’ve found the best spots for that perfect crepe. I didn’t really find my favourite on my first try, mind you, but I was surprised that Ottawa is dotted with fantastic crepe spots!
I heard that you’re looking for one now, and lucky you, I’ve made a list of them! So, follow along, and I assure you that these spots are worth the visit.

If you’re into crepes that can go from fruity sweet to rich and savoury, then Cora has got you covered. They’ve got all sorts of crowd-pleasers, including the banana blast crepe, tasty strawberry, spinach and cheddar, and ‘The Boss Favourite’ crepe.
But here’s the kicker: they also do crêpomelettes—that’s right, all the crepe flavours paired with an omelette. Aside from crepes, you can also dig into some delicious waffles, pancakes, sandwiches, and even skillets for something more filling.
On the drinks side of things, Cora has some smoothies, coffees, and teas. And hey, who’s to say crepes can’t be paired with fruit cocktails? Cora certainly doesn’t think so, especially with their watermelon and guava flavours!

Café Cristal gets quite the love for its diverse crepe lineup. First off, I highly recommend trying out their chocolate crepe and maple strawberry for a sweet treat.
On the savoury side, you gotta give their chicken pesto crepe, chipotle chicken, and Steak Morning crepes are popular options. But it doesn’t stop at crepes—they also offer sandwiches, croissants, and cookies that pair beautifully with their coffees or ice-blended drinks.
Speaking of ice-blended drinks, the frozen hot frappe and matcha were a total hit with us! You can get all these hot or over ice if that’s more your thing.
Pro tip: If you’re passing through for breakfast, their Morning Glory crepe is a winner to kickstart your day. Also, look out for any limited-time specials that they sometimes roll out—it’s a great way to find your next favourite treat. |

La Bocca Juice mainly serves all things Arab, and their crepes are quite the show stoppers. With choices like Labneh (Lebanese pressed yogurt), Zaatar (thyme, sesame, tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers), and the Kashkaval Cheese, you’re in for a spicy and exotic treat!
Beyond these unique options, they offer waffles, pudding, ice cream, as well as ashta plates—a delightful dish where ice cream is served with an array of toppings like fruits, almonds, nuts, and even cotton candy!
While they have crepes that sound more tropical, these don’t stray far from their Arabic theme. One of our favourites, for instance, is the Honoloulou crepes. While it might sound Hawaiian, it pays homage to the Middle East with its ashta spread base that’s topped with almonds and honey.
Pro tip: If you’re dining with a group or just want to indulge, you can request to have their crepes and waffles served on a platter. |

They offer both sweet and savoury crepes with customisable toppings, with Florentine (egg, spinach, cheese and tomato), and Popeye (egg, cheese, ham, mushroom, tomato, baby spinach, Alfredo sauce) being our top favourites.
Apart from their crepes, you choose from meals to go, sandwiches, and more. This spot is not just about individual orders, since they offer catering services as well as a variety of cake flavours, though these cakes are made-to-order.

What they’re really known for, though, are their hearty platters and hot subs.
If you’re into subs, try their liver sub, Philly cheesesteak, or choose between cheese, chicken, or smoked turkey subs. The portions are pretty generous, so you definitely won’t leave hungry.

Aside from these, you can also have chocolate or vanilla gelato, as well as apple crumble, which, by the way, we love! To top it all, you can choose either the chocolate sauce, vanilla yoghurt, honey, or just icing sugar and maple as a final topping.
Aside from the crepes, they also serve a hefty breakfast menu featuring pesto chicken panini, French toast, and more.
Pro tip: Don’t forget to grab a crepe with their banana caramel topping for a classic sweet treat. And if you’re thinking of getting a salad, definitely try the Mediterranean chickpea—it’s a hit among regulars! |
