In fact, this tranquil suburb boasts a lot of dining options, making it an Ottawan gem you shouldn’t miss out on.
Today, we’re going to show you what spots to hit, along with dishes to try to ensure that you leave feeling satisfied and eager for more culinary adventures in peaceful Barrhaven.

Expect exciting flavors from different parts of the globe including the crispy calamari, fried chicken ramen, and baja fish taco. As you can tell, regulars love them for their variety, making each visit an exciting one.
The blackened chicken fettuccine alfredo is a highly-rated dish and after trying it out ourselves, we immediately understood why on the first bite.
This mouthwatering pasta dish knows how to appeal to those seeking a smokey taste, paired with creamy and savory flavors. On the side is an equally delicious garlic toast, perfect for sopping up every last bit of sauce.
Trust us, you’d want to do that. Heck, if it were socially acceptable, we probably would’ve licked the plate clean!

Halibut House is a beloved local chain, popularly known for the seemingly decadent halibut fish crispies & chips. The pressed fish is lovingly enveloped in Halibut’s very own batter concoction, offering a delicious flavor unique to the establishment.
Of course, it also comes with fresh-cut fries, completing the already comforting meal.
Aside from this delicious fried delight, customers can also order an assortment of other seafood options including battered shrimp, seafood platter, grilled halibut, and a lot more.
There are a few other options as well for the meat-loving foodies, in the form of a delicious roadhouse beef burger and juicy chicken wings.

This includes their signature benedicts (not Cumberbatch, unfortunately, but equally sought-after), breakfast poutine, parfaits, french toast, waffles – you name it!
You’ll be excited to wake up in the morning knowing there’s a delicious breakfast waiting for you at Broadway.
What truly shines though is their signature homefries, which, fortunately, are included in almost every dish! You can also order it separately, especially if you desire heftier options of this indulgent and irresistible plate!
4. The Baker

The Baker lies in an unassuming spot, often left undiscovered, even by Barrhaven locals. We’re also guilty of this, but thanks to the hands-on research we did for this article, we discovered a new gem in this lovely neighborhood.
It’s fun being a tourist in your own city every now and then!
Anyway, the ultimate standout dish for us is the super zataar, which also happens to be The Baker’s number one recommended flavor. This tasty menu option is served as a pie filled with zataar (a blend of spices), halloumi cheese, tomatoes, and olives.
It’s perfect for those who have an affinity for earthy, salty, and tangy notes.
They also have a few vegan flavors such as zataar, spinach, and veggies, ensuring our plant-loving friends aren’t left out.

If you’re near its location, you’ll have no trouble getting a whiff of its mouthwatering offerings, tempting you to the hunger-inducing aroma of poutines, hotdogs, and burgers.
This lovely scentsational spot boasts a multitude of menu items, indulging its patrons in a world of savory flavors.
That said, it seems that the poutine ultimately stands out as the crowd favorite, which comes in different flavors. From the classic one to exciting flavors like mac & cheese, butter chicken, and popcorn chicken, you won’t get enough of it.
In fact, just a single bite of it, and we were immediately converted into diehard fans of their own take on the Canadian classic – and that’s putting it lightly.

The Works is a tasty Barrhaven delight well-known for its juicy, irresistible burgers that come in a broad variety of flavors, urging you to choose your own adventure depending on your taste.
What stands out as the most popular one out of the bunch is the war pig which features sauteed mushrooms, BBQ sauce, cheddar, and maple bacon.
We’re also a big fan of the juicy Lucy, which we’re quite sure cheese lovers will go crazy for. It comes with a juicy 8oz. burger with cheese stuffing, along with classic inclusions of lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onions, and mayo.
Oh, and here’s a little insider tidbit: their milkshakes are a must-try, probably even more popular compared to their burgers! Try the birthday sprinkle shake – you won’t regret it!

Greenfield’s Public House is a buzzing gastro pub with an intimately dim-lit interior.
While they don’t offer a rich variety of menu options, almost everything we’ve tried knocked us off our feet. After all, quality over quantity, right?
The nachos are probably the crowd favorite, elevating the classic bar fare by a ton. We also recommend trying other, more filling meals like the indulgent chicken Philly with a sweet and smoky flavor profile.
On certain nights, patrons of Greenfield’s are also given an extra treat in the form of live music. Make sure to check out their website to be updated on their schedule.
10. San Marino Pizza

San Marino Pizza is an old Barrhaven favorite that has been in the neighborhood since the late ‘80s.
This unassuming joint serves a lot of heavenly bites, with the Mediterranean pizza being our top favorite. It’s an exciting dish that features black olive, feta cheese, sweet red peppers, and tomatoes.
Other worthy contenders include the San Marino special and beef burger.
Aside from pizzas, they also have ridiculously good subs. If you want to go for the classic option, try your whack at the meatball sub. If you enjoy layers upon layers of flavors, take a bite of the club sub, which comes with bacon and turkey.

Playfully named Tutti Frutti, this indulgent breakfast and lunch spot is a Barrhaven gem, offering wholesome flavors that will have you excited to wake up.
From french toast to crepes and waffles to poutines, they have a wide array of menu options to cater to the diverse palates of their patrons.
The pancake is a popular choice. After all, they don’t call this a breakfast staple for nothing!
You can choose from a variety of flavors like bananas and Nutella, strawberry and pastry cream, and fresh fruit and English cream.
For a savory option, we highly recommend the breakfast poutine, a hearty dish that features potatoes, cheese curds, bacon, sausage, hollandaise sauce, and egg.
