Located in Montebello, Parc Omega is a safari park just almost an hour’s drive from Ottawa. It boasts an extensive range of activities including picnicking, wildlife immersion, and of course, a sugar shack experience. 

During the snowy months, visitors can indulge in this adventure where they can try plentiful options of maple products every day from 11 AM to 3:30 PM. 

While it’s not extremely far away from Ottawa, we suggest staying for at least an overnight trip to experience the beauty of Parc Omega. 

2.  The Log Farm

If you don’t want to travel far away from Ottawa, you can always check out The Log Farm at Nepean that’s just approximately 20 minutes away by car. 

Their exciting sugar bush event happens every March, where you can hop on a wagon to see how they make maple syrup in the flesh. 

It’s a perfect activity for families, especially since the farm also offers hands-on activities that kids greatly enjoy, tried and tested by our little ones! 

Visitors dropping in during the height of the sugar bush season are also entitled to an added treat, which is being able to visit the farm animals.

Not only can you observe them, but you can also further interact with them by touching and feeding these friendly furry creatures. 

3. Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm

Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm boasts an enchanting setting with its rustic charm and serene ambiance. Located around 30 minutes away from Ottawa, this spot is so beautiful that it has become a well-coveted venue for weddings. 

Aside from being a hotspot for this festive occasion, it’s also a popular location for its family-friendly sugar bush festivities that have been around for three decades. 

There’s an old cabin where visitors can enter to watch how they make maple syrup by converting the sap into this famous Canadian sweet treat. 

Aside from that, you can also indulge in other activities like eating at the Pancake House, interacting with farm animals, tasting the taffy, and more! 

4. Temple’s Sugar Bush Ltd

It sits in an accessible location, considering it’s just a few minutes from Highway #7.  

Their serene sugar bush spans 70 acres, giving visitors ample space for exploring. This captivating trail is best enjoyed by visitors who are avid outdoor adventurers, wanting to escape from the usual bustling city with the help of nature. 

After doing so, you can enjoy their other offerings including a pancake house and a maple shop to best enjoy their sugar shack offerings.
