Residents enjoy a clean, cosy atmosphere complemented by an array of daily activities like fitness classes. The short-stay rooms are a standout feature—fully furnished and ready at a moment’s notice, which can be a lifesaver in urgent situations.
What truly sets City View apart is the genuine warmth of the staff. Families we spoke to shared that their loved ones felt valued and cared for, which speaks volumes about the community’s culture.
On the downside, one former resident’s family mentioned an error on their tax receipt that required correction, which could be an inconvenience. Still, for a caring, responsive retirement option, City View is worth a tour.

We accompanied a close friend during a visit to Beacon Heights Retirement Residence, where her mother has been living for a couple of years.
From the moment we stepped inside, we observed that this is a community focused on keeping its residents active and engaged. We were especially touched by the Blossom program, designed for memory care residents.
My friend shared how much her mother enjoys the casino trips and scenic bus rides, describing how these outings give her a spark of happiness and independence. However, the dining experience was a concern brought up by my friend’s family.
Meals don’t always match the menu or meet expectations, which left her mother dissatisfied at times. During our visit, we also had the chance to attend a Remembrance Day ceremony, which was a beautifully organised and heartfelt tribute.

From placement, orientation and move-in to the care he received while he was there – everyone was so kind and professional. Management were very, very helpful to support our family, and especially the wonderful Director of Care who took him under her wing and provided so much quality one-on-one time with him, and the Blossom (memory care) Program director who is also gem. He was well taken care of in his suite by so many lovely people. I have only positive feedback to give to Beacon Heights.”
