So, last year, I decided to redecorate my living room with my DIY skills, new furniture, and designs I got from a few home makeover shows. Spoiler alert: it did not go as planned, so when you enter, you’ll probably mistake it for a forest.

We were really impressed with Cadieux Interiors upon visiting their office. They are mainly a furniture store but also offer comprehensive interior design services.
What’s more, if you already have a design in mind or a DIY draft, they can modify or complete it for you. Moreover, they handle everything from furniture, flooring, and paint colors to window treatments with ease.
They even introduced us to their “white glove” delivery service, which you can take advantage of if you happen to buy from them. This service not only involves delivering the furniture you’ve selected for the design but also setting everything up for you.
Although their services are top-notch, we find the cost to be on the higher side. But when we dug a bit deeper in our surveys, praises about their professionalism and creativity stood out.
Finally, we love that they offer both in-store and in-home design consultations followed by a presentation in their showroom. This is super great, especially so you can choose whatever fits your schedule.

The people at OakWood definitely know their stuff, which we were glad to witness when we had the time to chat with some of their architectural design experts. Plus, their luxury design and construction planning really stand out.
Their personalised approach is super client-focused, and the communication is spot-on. They keep you in the loop without you having to ask.
One thing we loved was their free consultation and financing options. It makes the whole process way less daunting, especially if you’re not sure where to start.
But even with the financing options, some of us still noted that the prices are high. Additionally, due to them having a lot of customers, a delay on their delivery services should be expected.

We found this helpful since it caters to almost any need you might have for your home. One of the things we really appreciated was the personal touch they offer.
You get to have an initial phone call with a designer, followed by an in-home consultation. It’s not just some cookie-cutter process; they really listen to your needs and ideas.
However, their rates are on the higher side. Also, they’re closed on weekends, which can be a bit inconvenient if you have a busy weekday schedule.
Nevertheless, we’re happy to note that it’s easy to communicate with them, as their staff seems quite responsive and approachable.
What’s more, they even host webinars and events for those second-guessing their redesign plans, which is a nice touch. People we spoke to highly recommend their services and praise their professionalism.

West of Main Interior Design are pretty much our go-to peeps for stellar interior design in Ottawa. Not only do they offer new builds with full finishing and remodels with full finishing, but their home finishing services have us all thinking of revamping our spaces.
Their willingness to work with clients outside of Ottawa and even Canada also had us clapping our hands! And if you’re someone who prefers getting some design advice without stepping out of the house, their Virtual Hourly Design Consultation is great.
But their weekend closures might be a bummer for those juggling hectic work weeks. Also, the costs can hit the higher end.
In the grand scheme of things, the few cons seem minor with how personalised their approach is. They don’t just slap together whatever’s trending; they really take the time to understand what you want.
And honestly, everyone we talked to praised their communication skills, making sure to keep you in the loop. Additionally, they mention that their process is smooth and incredibly transparent, thanks to the step-by-step breakdown available on their website.
