Immediate hearing aid help without an appointment
I was in Ottawa for a medical appointment and had o problem with my hearing aids. Despite not having an appointment the audiologist looked at my aids immediately and rectified the issue. He refused payment and was genuinely happy to help me out of a tough situation. His friendly and courteous demeanour were only surpassed by his knowledge and skill. Treat Hearing stands out because, aside from their physical location, they operate a full mobile hearing clinic. This means their home-visit appointments are just as thorough as the assessments you get in the clinic.
They also employ registered audiologists rather than hearing instrument dispensers, ensuring a high level of clinical expertise. Part of their team is Dr. Patrick Murphy, a local otolaryngologist, who works with them for pre- and post-surgery testing.
Their flexibility makes them a fantastic walk-in clinic option, too. They’re incredibly accommodating they are with scheduling, offering evening appointments on Thursdays and opening on Saturday mornings.
But we recommend booking an appointment as soon as you’re able to. You’ll find that there isn’t a tonne of availability since they cater to a wide service area in Ottawa.

Thorough and informative hearing assessment
Staff was friendly and efficient at 170 Booth. Megan at the front was friendly and answered any questions I had. The audiologist, Dr. Farriyan Seiom Hossain, was very knowledgeable, informative and friendly. He took the time to explain everything and asked if I had any questions. Families looking for comprehensive care will appreciate Ears On Main, an independently owned and operated practice. Angie O’Connor, the owner and registered audiologist, leads the practice with over 18 years of experience.
As for their service, they provide audiological assessments for both adults and children starting at age three and a half.
They also offer targeted tinnitus assessments, which is great if you suffer from persistent ringing. You can even get custom moulds made for sleeping or swimming from them.
On the downside, they’re not as flexible as we’d like. First, they don’t assess infants or toddlers under three and a half years old, and second, they’re closed on weekends.

Envision Hearing goes beyond basic hearing tests, which is one of the reasons we chose them. They’re available for screening sensory and cognitive factors during their multifactor Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) assessments.
Simone Dunbar-Nesbeth, the owner, holds a Doctor of Audiology degree and focuses heavily on APD and tinnitus. She is also a certified Tinnitus Retraining Therapy provider, which is fantastic news for anyone struggling with severe ringing in their ears.
However, keep in mind that they operate strictly by appointment only, which means you can’t just drop in for a quick adjustment.
Also, they limit standard hearing evaluations to patients aged five and older. This restriction completely leaves out parents seeking early intervention for toddlers.

Thorough four-hour auditory processing assessment
Dr Simone Dunbar-Nesbeth tested me for auditory processing disorder, and she was very thorough with the testing (it lasted >4 hours with breaks) She was very attentive when I explained my problems and was happy to answer any questions. Overall a very knowledgeable and kind audiologist in Ottawa!
