Olivia TaylorLast month, I decided to treat my mom to a spa day for her birthday because, well, she’s always pampering everyone else but herself. As soon as we stepped into the spa, we knew we were in for a treat.
The ambiance was perfect, with soothing music, calming scents, and comfortable robes. We both melted into bliss with every massage and facial, and couldn’t stop raving about it all week—we’ve now made it a point to do this at least once a month!
We believe that everyone deserves this kind of bliss, so we’ve listed our favourite spa joints that are sure to leave you feeling just as fabulous—based on our delightful experience! So, read on to find your next spa day venue!

Renu Spa excels with its diverse range of services, including massage therapy, facials, body treatments, waxing, and thoughtfully curated spa packages. Among these packages, the Ultimate Renewal stands out as a great choice.
This luxurious four-hour retreat features a one-hour G.M. Collin Classic Facial, a detoxifying dark clay body wrap, an anti-ageing eye treatment, a mani-pedi, and even a light lunch—which most clients raved about.
Their RMT Cupping therapy comes highly recommended by several clients too. Many mentioned feeling incredibly relaxed and rejuvenated, likely influenced by the spa’s immaculate environment.
During our visit, we were glad to have knowledgeable therapists. Plus, they’re easy to talk to when it comes to customising treatments to match our preferences.
The best part is that men aren’t left out in this spa, with offerings such as men’s fitness facials, manicures, and pedicures.
The only drawback is the challenge of securing an appointment due to their popularity, which often leads to busy phone lines and longer wait times.

One particularly unique experience that stands out is their Forest Therapy. Guided by Andrea, a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, this immersive 1.5 to 2-hour journey takes you through captivating locations like Beaver Pond Trail, Gatineau Park, or Dominion Arboretum.
The experience includes a post-walk reflection session, complemented by snacks and tea, and finishes with a serene spa session. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience, giving us a calm that lasted weeks!
Now, while the range and quality of services are commendable, the persistent marketing, even during appointments, can be overwhelming. Nevertheless, the staff’s expertise and warmth make guests feel welcome right from the start.

The Upkeep Shoppe offers a comprehensive range of standout facials, body treatments, and waxing services.
One of the services we found particularly delightful (it’s now our go-to for a quick escape) is their “Me Time Spa Package” —a combination of their signature manicure, pedicure, and neck and shoulder massage.
We were also pleasantly surprised to discover their range of premium skincare products available right at the clinic.
We’ve heard rave reviews from clients about the Turmeric + Echinacea Clarifying Cream, especially effective for balancing and nourishing the skin, so we felt compelled to try it. The verdict? We’re hooked!
Their well-organised manicure stations, cosy brow bar, and spacious lounge area were another big plus for us.
We’re just a bit concerned about their policy prohibiting anyone under 13 years old from entering the clinic. This is something that could pose an issue for mothers who may need to bring their children along.

One of the standout features at York Street Spa is the YSS Signature Package. This indulgent package includes an infrared sauna session, a hot stone massage, a mani-pedi, a facial, wash and style services, and even a complimentary lunch.
Many clients return specifically for this package, frequently mentioning how pampered and rejuvenated they feel afterward. Additionally, the spa’s warm and welcoming atmosphere enhances the positive experience.
York Street Spa’s expertise also extends to medical spa services, including micro-needling, cosmetic injectables, and laser treatments. Their skilled cosmetic injector is readily available for consultations, which is convenient.
While many were highly satisfied with the quality of care and results they received, some did mention occasional late starts to treatments even with an appointment. This is something to consider if you’re on a tight schedule.

Located in a beautifully restored heritage building, Peppermint Organic Spa offers a serene and welcoming environment perfect for relaxation. The first thing that caught our attention was their facial treatment which uses natural, organic ingredients.
Aside from that, they also offer unique services like Vajacial Deluxe Brazilian treatment, waxing, sugaring, manicures, pedicures, and traditional massage therapies.
We like how the consultations are thorough and tailored to each client so they receive the best possible care. Many clients agreed with us on this and also praised the results and the overall experience.
Another thing that we like is their Healing Spa Package. With this, you’ll get an organic manicure and pedicure, a 30-minute massage, and a 1-hour organic facial.
However, while the spa’s commitment to using organic ingredients is commendable, it may not be ideal for every skin type. Another thing, their responses to online and phone enquiries aren’t always prompt.
Overall, if you’re looking for a spa that prioritises organic treatments in a tranquil setting, Peppermint Organic Spa is a worthwhile option.
